Terrorist Fashion
Freshjive, one of the designers who supplies Urban Outfitters,
designed t-shirts depicting a 'victimized' Palestinian child holding a gun and a photo of Arafat with the caption 'the Good Ol' Days'. (Scroll down to see them). Many people wrote letters to both Freshjive and Urban Outfitters. UO, after making this egregious error did the pull the T-shirts from their stores. Freshjive on the other hand has made a
public statement denying the fact that he supports terror.
This is the
second time Urban Outfitters has made a ridiculous political statement with their merchandise. You'd think they would learn from past experiences.
On a semi-related note, as much as I love fashion, I could never ever work in that field.
Once again. No news here folks.
So, I did a search on all the main news websites and
this didn't make the front page on any of them. A mall in Ashkelon was struck by Iranian-made Grad missiles which are no pansy-ass missiles. These things have serious range and destructive power and it's quite amazing that not more people were hurt.
Pretty numbers and music
I doubt any of my eight readers would be interested in this but Livescience has an article on the geometrical patterns that can be seen in music. It's kind of cool, although I'm not sure it's any sort of earth shattering breakthrough. Math and music have been known to be correlated for quite a long time. All of my favorite musicians, whether they know it or not, do extremely interesting things with time signatures and chord progressions that I consider to be extremely technically creative yet simple at the same time. Does that make sense? I dunno. Anyways,
read the article if you want to know if Britney Spears and Lennon are a match made in heaven...mathematically speaking of course.
